1st Birthday

This was our 14th meet up in the Virtual room. and our 39th meeting over all.

It is also our 1st Birthday ๐ŸŽ‰ – Hooray!!

We spoke about bringing mindful moments into our lives outside of sitting.

Then we all practiced the Sitting Meditation.

Pilates Power

This week we spoke about mindfulness when we were doing other stuff. Michelle and Kim have both being doing some Pilates and have noticed the benefit of a mindful approach to this activity.

In any activity we can bring a more mindful approach simply by focusing on what is happening directly in front of you, in the present moment. All too often we are lost in the past or running into a never-never future.

When we focus, at first we might need to really stare at the object of our focus. As stillness comes we can look over the object of our focus so that we are aware but not directly involved.

Try this as you move to the ‘Natural and Soft’ breathing step. It is also helpful with feelings and mind when they are overwhelming or rushing. It is a balance between effort and relaxation, like picking up soap in the shower.

It is completely free and has some great resources on it. Take a look and see if it would help you on your practice journey.

Chat & Meditate

We will continue to have virtual meetings in the mornings, every other day to practice as a group.

As always Wednesday will be focused on starting practice and questions on the process of mindfulness.
