23rd November 2019
This was our sixteenth session at Broad Oak Village Hall.
We thought about being too stressed to calm down.
We practised the Sitting Meditation and also our Walking Meditation.
and then we all had tea and mince pies …
ย
We all agreed that sometimes we can be too busy to meditate. When we reflected on this we discovered that there was something silly about saying “we are too stressed to calm down”.
Some people in our group have said “when will I know I am making progress?”. As there is no objective measure of progress, no scale one which to mark our skill, this can be difficult to gauge.
A simple answer I heard was, “When you start to sit regularly, you have taken the first step along the path.” This is not a commitment to meditation, the community (or even me). This is a recognition that you are worth spending some of your time and energy on.ย
Having this insight, is most definitely progress.
How to stop nodding off (and falling off the chair)

Followed by the 18th and 25th of January.
If you have enjoyed meditating as a group, tell your friends.ย
Everyone is most welcome.
