Coming of Age

8th February 2020

This was our twentieth first session at Broad Oak Village Hall.

We had a chat about the practice;

Then we all practised the Sitting Meditation and the Walking Meditation.

and then we all had tea  …

Dharma Sharing

We had quite an animated discussion this week about how we were finding the practice.

There was not a strict theme but some of the things we talked about were..

  • Meditation at work – is it possible ?
  • Worried about being interrupted  – is it just another thought.
  •  Revenge ! – Not something that ends well.

In the Plum Village tradition this kind of group discussion is called ‘Dharma Sharing’.

& then something completely different.

Take a look at how totally amazing Becca is on the sax !!

Practise again

Thank you for your ongoing support

Put the lady down

Two traveling monks reached a river where they met a young woman.

Wary of the current, she asked if they could carry her across. The younger monk hesitated, but the older one quickly picked her up onto his shoulders, transported her across the water, and put her down on the other bank. She thanked him and departed. As the monks continued on their way, the younger one was brooding and preoccupied. Unable to hold his silence, he spoke out.

“Brother, our spiritual training teaches us to avoid any contact with women, but you picked that one up on your shoulders and carried her!”

“Brother,” the older monk replied, “I set her down on the other side, while you are still carrying her.”

Next session is Saturday 15th February 2020

Followed by the 22nd, 29th February. Then onto 7th & 14th March
